A Lithuanian has tricked Facebook and Google to transfer more than $120 million into his accounts and is now awaiting his extradition to the US, where he will be judged for fraud, risking a 20-year prison sentence, writes Reuters.

The Lithuanian Court of Appeal decided on Friday to support the decision adopted by a lower court to extradite Evaldas Rimasauskas to the US.

According to the investigation conducted in the US, the Lithuanian and his accomplices sent emails to Google and Facebook in which they lied about being members of the Taiwanese Quanta Computer group – the largest computer assembler in the world who produces components for Apple, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Fujitsu, and others.

The innovative group sent emails to both tech giants by using names similar to those used by the Taiwanese giant.

Without verifying the information, Google made the payment into a bank account from Lithuania controlled by the fraudulent firm, while Facebook has deposited the money into an account from Cyprus.

Quanta told Reuters their employee’s identities were stolen as part of the scheme but in terms of financial damage, unlike Facebook and Google, they are doing just fine.

According to the American press, Rimasauskas will face another two years in prison for identity theft, in addition to those 20 years for fraud.

Rimasauskas received $23 million from Google and $99 million Facebook, according to the Lithuanian court.

A British businessman, who was supposed to travel from Koln Germany, back home to Essex, woke up in a plane to Las Vegas.

Samuel Jankovsky claims his airline ticket has been checked three times by the airport staff, but nobody realized that the 29-year-old was supposed to arrive at the Stansted Airport in London and not in Las Vegas, writes Metro.

Jankovsky fell asleep shortly after taking off and woke up after an hour.

That’s when he realized the plane was heading towards Las Vegas and not the UK, because he saw on his smartphone the plane passed over Britain.

Considering there was nothing to be done, he told his wife what happened via WhatsApp.

As soon as he arrived at the Las Vegas Airport the Briton was taken by the American authorities because he didn’t have a visa.

Moreover, the Eurowings airline banned him from flying with one of their airplanes, so the businessman managed to return to Koln.

From Koln, he traveled to Stuttgart in order to catch the Essex flight.

“I was treated as an offender when I arrived in the US because I did not have a visa. An airport employee told me I had an hour to take a flight back to Koln. The process should be finalized next year and will be possible due to the Space X’s Falcon 9 rocket.

The German startup has already joined forces with Space X to send their ship Alina to the space-bar.

The spacecraft will make a slight landing on the Moon, and then two Audi Lunar Quatro rods will travel on the satellite surface to the landing site of Apollo 17.

The team on the planet needs a method of communicating with the rovers, and they anticipate that it will be facilitated using cellular planet technology.

According to the team, the company already has a deal with Vodafone for LTE base stations to be installed on the Moon.

The Alina spacecraft will be the base station, receiving data from the two rovers and sending them back to Earth.

A group of members from the Antarctic Heritage Trust, New Zealand found the “ancient” desert in Antarctica’s oldest building and, apparently, it’s been there for more than a century.

The cake was wrapped in a white paper and placed in a box, and those from the organization say it’s in an excellent condition, looking almost edible.

Most likely, British explorer Robert Falcon Scott brought the cake here.

The assortment was produced by Huntley & Palmers and it was brought during the Terra Nova expedition between 1910 and 1913.

“North Korea will, most likely, host what appears to be a meeting of foreign diplomacy chiefs after recalling ambassadors from major countries back to Pyongyang”, an official has confessed for Yonhap.

It’s not yet clear how many ambassadors are actually involved in this meeting, but the spokesman of Seoul’s Security Ministry Baik Tae-Hyun stated during a news conference the meeting might, in fact, represent a periodical reunion of ambassadors.

“North Korea organized the 43^rd meeting of its ambassadors in July 2015”, the same spokesman has explained.

However, there are rumors this current meeting might be related to the country’s new military exercises and strategies, such as a new nuclear or ballistic test.

US President Donald Trump has stated on Friday that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un “will genuinely regret” any hostile action against a US territory or US allies, the warning being released a few hours after, he wrote on Twitter the US weapons are already “loaded and armed” to fight against any threat posed by North Korea.

The Korean peninsula has announced on Wednesday the release of a Canadian pastor who was serving a life sentence.

The unexpected decision was adopted by North Korea’s Central Court for medical reasons, writes Yonhap quoting a news report from KCNA.

Moreover, a Canadian government delegation has just arrived in Pyongyang in order to investigate the unbelievable case.

Lim Hyeon-su is a 61-year-old Canadian pastor of Korean origin who was imprisoned in January 2015 when he entered North Korea via China with in order to promote a humanitarian campaign.

In December 2015, the elder was sentenced by the highest court from Pyongyang to life imprisonment and forced labor for conducting a ‘subversive plotting’ against the North Korean regime.

The release of the Canadian pastor comes a day after the arrival in North Korea of a Canadian national delegation administrated by Daniel Jean a national security adviser and special envoy of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Pastor Lim has conducted more than 100 trips to North Korea over the years for humanitarian aid, the first one taking place in 1997.

Lim’s family has urged the Canadian government to increase its efforts to release the pastor after US student Otto Warmbier came home in a coma June after 17 months of detention.

A week after he was brought to the US, Otto died in a hospital from Utah.

Walt Disney is accused of using some of their smartphone and tablet applications to spy on children and a lawsuit was initiated by a Californian court in order to clear things up.

The American company, which has just announced they will withdraw its content from Netflix to create its own streaming video service, has been summoned by the Californian court because, allegedly, their apps collect information about children.

The data is sold, afterward, to various advertising companies.

The applications developed by Disney are equipped with certain software components used in tracking and collecting data industry, especially the information related to the user’s behavior.

Although it is a technique often used by developers for mobile applications, the problem with Disney is the fact that there are children in the middle.

In conclusion, Disney violated the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), a law passed by the US Congress in 1999 to protect children’s privacy online.

According to this law, data collection when it comes to children under the age of 13 can only be used or stocked with the consent of parents.

In an official statement, Disney denies their applications violated COPPA and its representatives claim it’s all been a misunderstanding.

In 2011, Disney’s Playdom subsidiary was fined with $3 million for the exact same infringement.

Linda Wenzel, the 16-year-old German teenager who fled to Iraq to join ISIS will face the death penalty

The girl was discovered by the Iraqi army forces in the city of Mosul.

The German teen was interrogated by the Iraqi authorities and she might be sentenced to death for joining the terrorist group.

Wenzel converted to Islam when she was only 15 years old and ran away from home after she had been radicalized through thousands of online conversations with a fanatic from the jihadist organization.

Wenzel took the plane to Istanbul then she illegally crossed the border to Iraq, where she married the Chechen fighter.

After his death, the teenager arrived in Mosul, where more than 25.000 Islamic supporters died during the war with the Iraqi forces.

Germany is currently in the process of negotiating with the Iraqi authorities in order to release the young woman who will turn 17 at the end of the month.

In Germany, she will most likely be judged and convicted, but because she is minor, the punishment may be softer.

Five American diplomats in Cuba and their wives have temporarily lost their hearing late last year, US government sources have revealed for the Associated Press.

They would have been targeted by a secret sonic weapon, writes The Independent.

None of their children were injured, but some diplomats had to, immediately, flee the Latin American country.

The FBI and the Diplomatic Security Service have initiated an investigation related to the incident and the American government has already suspended the activity of two Cuban diplomats from the Washington Embassy on May 23rd.

The US State Department has failed to confirm if the diplomats have, indeed, lost their hearing, but admitted they have suffered a series of “a number of physical symptoms.”

According to the first information revealed by the US intelligence services, the diplomats have been attacked with a hi-tech device able to generate a sound which cannot be heard by humans.

Instead, the sound will seriously affect the hearing of whoever is in closest proximity.

These very advanced devices would have been installed in or near the houses of the diplomats.

It is unclear whether they have been thought of as a weapon or they were supposed to be used for other purposes.

A communiqué, published by the Cuban Foreign Ministry, says the authorities were informed and they have launched an “exhaustive, high-priority, urgent inquiry”, increasing the security measures for all US Embassy employees and US diplomatic presidents.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker is being accused of spending 25.000 euros from the budget of the European institution to rent a private jet from Brussels to Rome, according to a series of revelations made by a group of Spanish activists from Access Info.

Also, according to BBC News, the European commissioners spent almost half a million euros on private planes and accommodation only between January and February 2016.

The European Commission has argued that these costs are in line with EU rules and all of the expenses are being verified annually by the European Parliament.

These expenses include renting a private aircraft for Jean-Claude Juncker’s delegation of nine to fly from Brussels to Rome, where the EC President attended a meeting with Italy’s former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

A spokesman explained that the private aircraft was rented because there none of the commercial flights from that time matched with the president’s busy agenda.

Another strange detail that drew the attention of the Spanish organization was the “fee” of 2.927 euros for each person who took the private flight from Brussels to Rome.

The Detroit-based company produced the world’s cheapest electric car, set to launched this week in China

The company’s decision to commercialize the tiny vehicle for just $5.300 comes after GM received national and local subsidies to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions, writes CNN Money.

Prior to granting subsidies, the vehicle’s price was, initially, estimated to $14.000.

The cute car is equipped with two car seats, a 39 horsepower electric motor and it can reach a maximum speed of 100 km/h.

Dubbed by its producers as Baojun E100, the electric vehicle has a 160 kilometers range and it’s specially designed for a crowded city.

The car has a wheelbase of 1.6 meters and a height of 1.67 meters, so it will be perfect for those drivers who plan on slipping quickly through a traffic jam.

The car compensates for its small size through a very hi-tech entertainment system featuring a 7-inch screen and integrated Wi-Fi.

All cars will have parking sensors and an alert system that activates when pedestrians are crossing the street.

More than 5.000 people have already submitted on the waiting list in order to put their hands on a Baojun.

Another 500 cars will be available later this week and the selling process will pretty much base on the “first come, first served” conception, a spokesman for General Motors has revealed.

Citizens from 80 countries can now travel to Qatar without a visa, the emirate authorities announced on Wednesday for Reuters.

The list also includes Great Britain, USA, Canada, India, South Africa, Seychelles, Australia, New Zealand and 32 European states.

The residents of these 80 states are no longer required to apply for a visa because they are now able to travel to Qatar without paying any tax.

The only formalization is to present your passport, which must be valid for at least six months and a ticket to confirm you are planning to return to your country or to continue your journey somewhere else.

Based on your citizenship, you either have the right to spend a total of 90 days with multiple entries, an 180-days period with multiple entries or a total of 30 days with multiple entries.

Hassan Al Ibrahim, the acting President of the Qatar Tourism Authority, says Qatar is “the most open country in the region” by allowing citizens to enter the country without visas.

“We are pleased to invite visitors to discover our hospitality, cultural heritage and national treasures,” he added.
