President Tayyip Erdogan suggested Thursday that Turkey would be willing to release the American pastor detained on its territory if America accepts to extradite Fethullah Gulen.

Turkey has repeatedly asked for the extradition of Fethullah Gulen, one of the president’s former allies, accused of plotting a coup d’etat to overthrow Erdogan’s government in July 2016.

Following the failed coup attempt, 250 people were killed, while Gulen has denied any involvement.

The unstable political situation followed by the failed coup led Erdogan to impose an aggressive policy which involved the arrest of thousands of people, including the American Christian missionary Andrew Brunson who served in a church from Izmir.

The arrest of Brunson occurred in October, after he was accused of being one of Gulen’s supporters.

In reply, the United States claimed the release of their citizen, claiming the accusations are false.

During a speech in front of hi police officers, somehow, Erdogan seemed to link the stories of the two clerics.

“You will give us the pastor, and then we will try to give back yours (Brunson)”, stated Erdogan Tayyip quoting Reuters.

“The pastor we have is judged. Yours is not – he lives in Pennsylvania. You can easily extradite him. You can extradite him immediately, “added the Turkish president.

China adopts drastic measures against North Korea after the Pyongyang regime has disregarded several of Beijing’s demands, initiating an intense conflict with the US, South Korea and Japan.

China has urged North Korean companies operating on its territory to close their doors and leave, BBC News has reported.

China’s trade minister mentions in a press release that all North Korean entrepreneurs and North Korean franchisees operating in China have 120 days to close down.

China did not, however, urged Chinese companies with their headquarters in North Korea to end their activity.

The Minister said some projects may make an exception to this rule, especially those “non-profit organizations”.

China’s ban on North Korean affairs represents another blow for the “Hermit Kingdom’s” economy, with 80-90% of North Korea’s exports to China.

“There is nothing surprising or extraordinary regarding the minister’s decision that perfectly aligns with the sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council”, stated Zheo Tong, an expert at the Carnegie Tsinghua Center for the Financial Times.

“However, the impact will be a major one,” he added, highlighting that many North Korean businesses, exchange companies and even restaurants operating in China play a key role in North Korea’s economy.

Measures taken by Beijing will worsen put even more pressure on the relation of North Korea with China.

The project was initiated by Microsoft, Facebook and Telxius, it’s 6.600 kilometers long and it was installed in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean.

The giant fiber optic cable connects Virginia Beach, the United States and Bilbao, Spain.

The cable, dubbed as Marea, will start operating in 2018 and it will transmit data with a 160 terabytes / second speed, 16 million times faster than a regular home internet connection.

More precisely, 71 million HD clips can be transmitted simultaneously via this cable.

The construction of the cable began in August 2016 and was completed earlier that the initial date, which was October 2017.

The Marea will be operated and maintained by the Telxius telecommunication company and it will connect with network hubs across multiple regions of Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

The software company managed by co-founder Natalya Kaspersky claims the new device prevents Google and other browsers from collecting data related to the user’s privacy, writes Bloomberg.

Taiga was designed by the Moscow-based group InfoWatch and named after the deserted forests of Siberia.

 

 

The innovative smartphone operated its own firmware based on a modified version of Android that allows applications to function properly, but blocking them from collecting data.

The London police is currently investigating a stealing case at the Grenfell Tower, after a group of thieves stole money from various apartments destroyed by the fire, writes CNN.

A 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit the Mexico last night, killing 224 people, including 20 children who died because the ceiling of their school collapsed on them.

The emergency services intervened in Ciudad de Mexico, where they are struggling to pull as many from the rubbles.

Chief of Civil Protection, Luis Felipe Puente, said no material damage has been reported so far, but thousands of people rushed to evacuate the office buildings on Mexico’s central Reformation Boulevard, shortly after the alarms were activated and the traffic became frozen for several minutes.

According to the US seismological institute, the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.1 and the epicenter was near the Puebla in Raboso, about 123 kilometers southeast from the capital.

The earthquake took place around the day the Mexicans commemorate 32 years since the 1985 earthquake, which was the most devastating in the country’s history.

Two people ended up in hospital with serious injuries after a Ka-52 military helicopter accidentally opened fire towards the spectators who were watching the Zapad-2017 exercises, writes The Moscow Times.

According to 66.ru, the incident took place on the Lujchi polygon in western Russia.

However, the exact day when the horrific accident has happened is not known, but it’s believed it was on 17^th or 18^th September, one day before the visit of President Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Sergey Soigu at the same polygon.

The source quoted by the news portal revealed the helicopter had suffered a technical malfunction and that’s why the missiles were accidentally triggered.

“At least two cars have been burned, while the two persons who have been seriously injured are now hospitalized,”, adding that most likely the victims are journalists.

For now, the incident has not been confirmed by any official source from Russia.

World War I submarine, found in the North Sea with the bodies of its 22 crew members and their commandant on board

A German submarine used during the World War I was found off the shores of Ostend in the North Sea, has revealed for La Libre Belgique on Tuesday, Carl Decaluwé, the governor of West Flanders.

The wreckage contained the bodies of 23 crew members and the equipment was almost intact, the divers have revealed.

Also, the 27-meters-long ship was in an excellent shape.

“The submarine is in such good condition that we presume that all the bodies are still on board”, stated the governor, shortly after the incredible discovery was made public.

According to Flanders News, the submarine was probably sunk by a mine, because except for the damaged areas noticed on its bridge, the ship is almost intact.

Although experts believe the ship dates back from the World War I era, its exact identity is still not known.
