A new teen-centric app that allows younger college kids and high schoolers to socialize better with themselves by viewing flashy video profiles of friends in a standalone environment has recently been launched by Facebook.

Lifestage, as it is officially called, just debuted on iOS recently. Although this app can be downloaded and utilized by anyone, it will only appear interesting to those who are under 21 years of age. Lifestage users are also provided with plenty of warnings from Facebook that lets them know that not everything displayed on the app is entirely correct – or private.

Everyone can view everything user posts in Lifestage as they are always public. There are no available options to limit the audience of a user’s video. According to Facebook, every video uploaded to a user’s profile is fully a public content.

While doubling as a social marketing tool for Lifestage, only peers at the user’s high school are shown by the high school aspect of the app. However, this can only be achieved once 20 indications have been received from other high schoolers attending the same school.

Even without having a Facebook account, anyone can still use the app which primarily encourages users to get friends to sign up for the app.

As a core concept of Lifestage, users are expected to use videos to answer every question it asks them and not text update. For instance, when you are asked to flaunt your happy face, the app requires you to present your best smile as a selfie by grinning into the camera. To keep it even more interesting, try to make your response a bit more dramatic.

It‘s these answers that become your profile video on the app which any of your friends under 21 can freely check out.
