Numerous bomb attacks rocked the Syrian city of Tartus on Monday morning.
Reportedly, the explosions killed more than 11 people and according to Le Figaro, the ordeal took place on a highway.
Another explosion took place near Damascus and the local press announced that a car bomb destroyed an area in Homs.
In addition, two more bomb attacks took place in Tartus near a Russian naval facility.
“We received some information that a double explosion occurred at the Tartus city entrance”, stated a reporter from RIA Novosti.
According to the local press, the twin explosions killed 11 people and wounded 45 more.
On a series of images shared on social media, a large black smoke cloud it’s seen rising over the al-Araunah bridge.
So far, no organization claimed the attack, although twin explosion represents a characteristic strategy used by ISIS.
Three days ago, the Syrian Ministry of Tourism shared a promo clip on social media. The footage presented the city of Tartus as the ultimate holiday destination but the video failed to capture one thing: the country’s five-year civil war.
Allegedly, the politician even plans to launch a new mobile app, entitled “Mobile Syria”, an application meant to lead users to tourist sites and various facilities. He certainly failed to predict the most recent incident, in which more than 70 people arrived at the local hospital with severe injuries.
Two more explosions have also been reported in Homs, along the highway to Damascus.
