You would probably think the toilet is the most grungy object in your home and I bet you didn’t had any idea that your sink has twice more bacteria than your toilet seat.

In order to gross you even more, do you know that you remote is crawling with bacteria and is the quickest way for them to spread?

Here’s a list with the objects you should clean at least once a week:

1.Dish sponge: dish sponges are not actually infested with bacteria because they are coming into frequent contact with food.

But food residues that remain on their adherent surface fastens the bacteria development process. The best advice would be to change you dish sponge at least once a week.

  1. Sinks: the sink is the filthiest place in your home. Most people take steps to disinfect their toilet bowls and few give their kitchen sink the same consideration.

  2. The remote control: television remote is an object used by every family member. Most times we are using the remote without washing our hands after eating.

According to previous studies, the remote control has the highest level of bacteria, which can lead to a nosocomial infection.

Chips left-overs, hand lotion, playing with your cat and not washing your hands immediately, creates a literal bacteria cocktail.

  1. Your doormat: The doormat is a virtual breeding ground for microbes, that can include fungus, bacteria, mold, mildew, and a host of other unwelcome intruders. To avoid potential infections, you can always opt for an antimicrobial carpet.

  2. The washing machine: You will be surprised to find out that you washing machine is one of the most bacteria-friendly objects in your home.

That’s because we are washing our clothes at 30, 40 or 60 degrees and most germs die at a 90 degree temperature.

The inside of a washing machine is warm and damp, so it’s the perfect place for bacteria to grow.
