Having a smart home is no longer a wish that will be granted in the future because this Wednesday will be launched an app where you can control your house at the touch of a button.
With the iOS 10’s new software, Apple hopes to bring you a new Home App, making your home easier to control, competing this way with Amazon and Google.
Either by asking Siri or by pushing a button, one can control the windows, doors, blinds and lights with much easier.
‘iOS 10 is our biggest release ever, with delightful new ways to express yourself in Messages, a native app for Home automation, and beautifully redesigned apps for Music, Maps, and News that are more intuitive and more powerful, making everything you love about your iPhone and iPad even better,’ said Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi.
When the Home App is used, it opens a list of favorite scenes and accessories, for a faster access, where you can choose the gadget you want to use by selecting it. It then opens a different set of options for each gadget.
For example with the Philips Hue lights one can make the light brighter or just dim it down as much as possible, or even change the colors.
Why is this app smart? Because it lets you combine gadgets and make various combinations between them, for example when you are leaving the house you can program it to lock the doors, switch down the lights and lower the thermostat.
