Novak Đoković was qualified for the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam tournament at the US Open.
The Serbian tennis player Novak Đoković, the first favorite at the US Open, won the match played on Monday against his Briton opponent Kyle Edmund and ranked 84 in the world rankings, with the score 6-2, 6-1, 6-4, in the round of Grand Slam Tournament at the US Open.
The match lasted one hour and 55 minutes and was controlled by the world leader. During the match, Đoković won just as his opponent three points directly from the serve, committed seven double mistakes and the first service percentage was 61 percent. The Serbian player had 15 chances to break, from which eight got materialized and lost two games on his own service.
For qualification into the quarters, Đoković secures a check worth $450,000 and 360 points in the world rankings and Edmund receives 235,000 dollars and 180 ATP points for the game he had in the US Open.
Đoković, who has also eliminated this year Jerzy Janowicz, Jiri Vesely and Mikhail Youzhny, withdrawn from the competition, will play the quarterfinals against the Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, ranked the ninth on chances to win the US tour.
Novak Đoković is a Serbian professional tennis player field, winning in 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016 the Australian Open tour and in 2011, 2014 and 2015 the Wimbledon tournaments; U.S. Open in 2011 and 2015 and Roland Garros in 2016.
Đoković is currently number 1 in the ATP ranking. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 he won the bronze medal. Đoković won in 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 the Tournament of Championsand has to his credit a record of 29 Masters Series titles in tournaments.
