Proud and optimistic about the incredible discovery, doctors try to keep their joy under control until they will make a major test confirming the beneficial effects of this drug for a significant number of people.

An antibiotic that can completely reduce the visible signs of Alzheimer in the brain was discovered during an investigation.

Researchers conducted brain scans on people who had symptoms of degenerative signs of the brain, signs of Alzheimer’s installing while they operated their new drug. The pellet is based on an immune cell taken from the blood of men aged up to 100 years old, who did not have symptoms of the disease.

After one year, all these amyloid plaques that lead to Alzheimer disappeared from the brains of those who received the highest doses of the innovative antibiotic. Also, according to statements made by scientists in the Nature journal, the cognitive decline was decreased.

Doctors are optimistic and if positive results are confirmed in a large-scale testing, it seems that we finally have a treatment for a disease increasingly present today.

The drug was effective when it was distributed in three different doses. When scanning the brain, at the brain level there were no longer regions marked in red, meaning that there was no evidence of amyloid plaques.

“Compared with other studies published in the past, the effect of this drug has no precedent,” explained one of the researchers.

“If these preliminary tests will be confirmed in large-scale studies the drug can prove to be an important weapon in the fight against Alzheimer’s,” concluded Professor Eric Reiman, from the University of Arizona, in an article praising the progress.
