Obama’s Reading List

After he made his summer playlist public, the US President Barack Obama has decided to share with the world the five books that he aims to read until the end of the summer.


On the reading list is and “The Underground Railroad”, recommended by Oprah Winfrey, and the book “Seveneves” by Neal Stephenson, promoted by Bill Gates, according to The Independent.


Janelle Monae, Prince and Chance the Rapper are artists who are included in the US President Barack Obama’s playlist, the leader of the White House has made it known last month.


A few days later, Obama publicly shared the books he wishes to read:


  1. “Barbarian Days: A Surfing Life” by William Finnegan

    The first book is called “Barbarian Days: A Surfing Life” and is written by William Finnegan and belongs to the memoir genre, having a dialog box of the author’s self-developed obsession for surf. The book brought William Finnegan a Pulitzer Prize.


    2. “The Underground Railroad” by Colson Whitehead


    The second book is called “The Underground Railroad” and is written by Colson Whitehead. Reading it allows a real insight into the adventures of a young slave on the way to liberation. The action takes place before the American Civil War. The book was recommended and Oprah Winfrey.


    3. “Hawk” by Helen Macdonald


    The third book is called “Hawk” and is written by Helen Macdonald. The thread of the narrative exposes the efforts taken by the author in relation to his father while training an eagle.


    4. “The Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins


    The fourth book on US President is the bestseller list “The Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins, about an English commuter who becomes involved in a missing person case.


    5. “Seveneves” by Neal Stephenson


    The last book is “Seveneves” by Neal Stephenson, which has a scientific story about how the man managed to confront Revelation. The same book was recommended by Bill Gates.
