‘Sylvester Stallone was found dead in his Los Angeles home!’, was the news that devastated Stallone’s fans on the weekends. Fortunately, it proved to be the most inspired prank ever.
The news regarding Stallone’s death spread super quick and first information led to a death from a drug overdose.
The news became viral and social media was taken by storm when users started to post messages of condolences. The actor was the victim of a group of online pranksters, who meticulously planned every single detail. They even made it look like a CNN breaking news.
In fact, once users clicked on the headline, the link directed them to a fake news website. However, the 70-year-old defied all death reports, by posting the cutest shot on Instagram. “A wonderful quiet dinner with my daughter,” Stallone captioned the picture. He was seen with his daughter, Sistine, during a night out.
Rumors of the actor’s alleged demise gained traction on Saturday after an ‘R.I.P. Sylvester Stallone’ Facebook page attracted nearly one million of ‘likes’. A recent poll conducted for the Celebrity Post shows that a large majority (72%) of respondents think those Sylvester Stallone death rumors are not funny anymore.
The ‘Rocky’ star proved he is alive and well as he went for a stroll in Beverly Hills with friends on Saturday. Other victims of celebrity death hoax were Michael Schumacher and Sir Paul McCartney.
‘R.I.P… what a legend u will be missed well and truly’, one Facebook user wrote.
