Despite the fact this idea was inconceivable a few years ago, the fact that Wi-Fi is more important than chocolate and sex was scientifically proven.
According to a new study, 4 out of 10 people believe that a wireless connection is more important than an active sexual life.
The experiment was conducted on 1,700 employees from Europe and the United States. The participants had to choose between the importance of a wireless connection or other human needs. The choices were ranked on a scale from 1 to 4 (4 was the least important).
Wi-Fi is the most important need for 40,2% of the participants, followed by sex (36,6%), chocolate (14,3%) and alcohol was noted by 8,9% of the participants.
‘Wi-Fi is the most popular method of connecting to the Internet and managed, somehow, to surpass other human needs’, said the commercial director of IPASS Pat Hume.
‘The idea that Wi-Fi is more important than sex chocolate or alcohol was unthinkable a few years ago.’, added the commercial director.
‘But, lately, the Internet emerged on the bottom line of the Maslow’s pyramid of needs’, added Hume.
During the study, the experts discovered that Wi-Fi is able to influence people’s choices when it comes to traveling.
72% of the subjects said that most times they are opting for the hotel that has a Wi-Fi network. 21% said that Wi-Fi represents a decisive factor in almost everything they are doing.
The reason behind Wi-Fi’s growing favor, it seems, is the impact it has had on our daily lives.
