According to NK News, the largest hotel in the world might open its doors after more than 30 years.

Kim Jong-Un most prized possession could make its debut in the tourism industry in the next few months, reported the American website.

The rumors regarding a possible inauguration amplified after the locals spotted lights in three hotel rooms of the Ryugyong Hotel.

The residents rushed to make these allegations because the lights represent the first ‘sign of life’ since the construction project was initiated back in the 80’s.

The reporters of the American publication managed to obtain a video footage, in which the lights can be observed on two different floors of the building.

Things started to move quickly after the project was adopted by an Egyptian company. The leading board of Orascom traveled to Pyongyang last week in order to negotiate with the Supreme Leader the future of the massive building.

The Egyptian firm is also the majority shareholder of the island’s only phone network.

The same company invested hundreds of millions in order to install the windows in the hotel back in 2008.

The impressive building was estimated at nearly $600 million dollars but the construction was held back by a series of budget issues.

The project was initiated in 1987, on Kim II-sung’s era with the main purpose of increasing the tourism in North Korea.

Although it cost millions of dollars, the project was postponed five years later shortly after the Soviet regime collapsed.

The building is 330 meters tall and includes 3.000 rooms.
