Jets’ Darrelle Revis, charged with assault

According to reporters, Darrelle Revis has been charged for assault. He plays for the New York Jets.


He was charged yesterday for several reasons. He is suspected for assault and robbery and terroristic threats. This comes after last weekend he got involved in an incident in Pittsburgh.


The player faces five charges. The majority of them as listed as misdemeanor and two are aggravated assaults.


His lawyer revealed that he tried to reach him last night. He tried to convince the player to surrender.


The incident took place on Sunday, at the middle of the night. A man approached the player and recorded him after learning about who he is.


The 31-year-old tried to take the man’s phone to erase the video. At this moment, another man interfered and tried to protect the other. The things emerged into a huge verbal fight.


The Jets’ player was then joined by a friend. He and his friend beat the two men and left them in an unconscious state.


The police took hold of the footage from the phone and learned about Revis’ identity.


His team released a statement following the allegations. They said that they were aware of the incident and they did speak to Revis, but they will not interfere further.


Earlier this week, his attorney claimed Darrelle was in fact the one beaten by five men. Because he feared from his life, he left the place. He did go to the hospital for medical attention.


Revis was in town to visit family and acquaintances.


It’s really important for him to remain with this team as he could make good money: more than 15 million dollars.
