Vogue Paris just revealed that they are going to have a transgender model for the first time ever on their cover.

The model is Valentina Sampaio and is based in Brazil. Th magazine calls her a “femme fatale” that was born as a boy.

The issue that features Valentina will be out on February 23rd. Not only that this is a first for Vogue, but for all French magazines.

The model had the words “Transgender beauty” written in the back.

Valentina is 22 years old. The chief editor from Vogue praised her. Emmanuelle Alt thinks that Valentina has not only a great physique and an amazing personality, but is the embodiment of a fight that has been going on for a long time. This battle is called by Alt a “gender exile.”

Transgender people are getting more support than ever. The way these people are seen has changed a lot in the recent years.

Valentina is the latest one to make the headlines.

Alt added that her magazine wants to support and empower these people. She thinks that once someone like this made it to the cover, words are not useful anymore. People will already know that the “fight was won”.

The editor made sure to pay homage to other trans models. For example, Riccardo Tisci’s muse, Lea T.

Caitlyn Jenner has made headlines when she revealed her new self. She received a lot of support. Another famous transgender figure is Laverne Cox, who is one of the most successful actresses.
