The masked figurines from The Lego Batman Movie managed for the second consecutive week to dominate the North American box office, reports Exhibitor Relations.
The masked Lego hero ‘stars’ in The Lego Movie’s spin-off and reported a revenue of $43 million dollars only in ‘The president’s day’ weekend and for the two weeks registered no less than %107,5 million.
Batman ‘borrowed’ the voice of Will Arnett for the new 3D Lego movie. The action unfolds in Gotham City and the Joker’s voice is interpreted by Zach Galifianakis.
Fifty Shades Darker, the second movie inspired by E.L. James’ novel is the second place for the second week in a row, reporting incomes of $24 million dollars in the holiday weekend.
In total, the sequel reported gains of $92.5 million.
The Chinese super-production ‘The Great Wall’ disappoints during the first weekend and reports only $21 million dollars.
The 3D movie is the most expensive Chinese production ever made with a budget of $145 million euros.
The fourth place is occupied by John Wick 2, cashing only $19, million in the holiday weekend and $62 million in total.
Fist Fight is yet another disappointing premiere. The production dropped on the fifth position, cashing only $15 million dollars.
The comedy starring American rapper Ice Cube unfolds in a school. Cube, who plays the role of a professor challenges one of his colleagues to fight after classes.
