The American University of Harvard decided to grant Rihanna a distinction, naming the singer the Humanitarian Personality of the Year.
Although she won numerous Grammy Awards and she is a worldwide known celebrity, Rihanna never forgot from where she left.
The beautiful Barbadian always invested in education and health and she always struggled to help the poor community from Barbados.
The Harvard humanitarian award will be handed in the campus
Rihanna will attend the ceremony and she will receive the award during a prestigious gala organized on the Harvard campus on 28th February.
‘Thanks to her charity work, Rihanna built an oncology center and acquired medical equipment to diagnose and treat breast cancer in the Queen Elizabeth hospital from Barbados’, declared the director of Harvard Foundation S. Allen Counter.
Helped by her team, Rihanna created this program which supports the expenses of the students from the Caribbean’s, who decide to study in the US.
Among the celebrities who received this award in the past are Nobel laureate for Peace Malala Yousafzai and singer Lionel Richie.
Robyn Rihanna Fenty sold over 200 million CD’s, won eight Grammy awards and 14 of her songs topped the global charts.
On 20th February, the singer turned 29 and she celebrated the happy event with her friends and family.
Ex-boyfriend Drake also congratulated Rihanna and wished her ‘Happy Birthday’.
The former couple dated for five years.
After they broke up, Drake hooked up with Rihanna’s bestie J.Lo.
