You should take more steps. Literally!
People who take, on a daily average, more than 11,000 steps, do not have the tendency to ‘pour’ their fury, anger, apathy and other negative emotions on their family members.
The tension accumulated at work can be counterattacked.
Compared to people who are taking less than 7,000 steps per day, those who walk more are likely to be more calm and relaxed.
This study was conducted by a scientists’ team from the University of Florida.
Researchers explained that stressed employees, who undertake execrable behavior from their superiors at their workplace, often come to take out their anger on family members.
It has been determined that these persons get really tired at work.
They do not seem to be in control of their behavior or moods swings anymore. So, they release their pain and frustration when they get home.
But, experts have come to a conclusion: people who consume approximately 600 calories a day by doing physical exercises tend to release their negative feelings.
To consume this amount of calories, you should swim for about an hour a day or walk at a fast pace for about 90 minutes.
Everyone, no matter how calm is by nature, goes through some moments of annoyance. These moments trigger and fuel a dangerous feeling: anger.
This is an emotional response in situations when someone is attacked, insulted, cheated on or frustrated.
However, if the state of mind degenerates, the person may lose control and act impulsively.
The issue, therefore, is not anger itself, but with how we manage it.
If you’re wondering what to do when you’re nervous, here are some tips:
– Breathe deeply from the diaphragm;
– A calming phrase repeated slowly in your mind while breathing deeply;
– Visualize a relaxing experience or a landscape that you really like;
– Practice simple yoga exercises that release muscle tension and calms you deeply.
