The British Prime-Minister announced on Tuesday the shocking decision of calling a precipitous general election for 8th June.
She took advantage of the brief meeting unfolded on Downing Street to mention the British Government has the perfect plan to negotiate the terms of the Brexit but they require the right ‘political unity’ from London, informs Reuters.
The breaking news also included UK’s decision to re-schedule the election, meant to take place in 2020.
‘Our opponents believe that because the government’s majority is extremely small that they can weaken our resolve and persuade us to change course.
‘I am not prepared to let them endanger the security of millions of working people across the country.’
Let us tomorrow vote for an election… and let the people decide’, declared Mrs. May.
According to the British leader, the only way of assuring stability during the upcoming years is to organize the snap election.
Furthermore, Theresa May ‘warned’ her political opponents and highlighted their wrong beliefs when it came to UK’s approach towards the divorce procedure.
May accused the opposition of ‘weakening the Government’s position in London, especially when it comes to the negotiations’.
However, in order to validate the scrutiny, Theresa May must obtain an approval from the Parliament.
Before she was designated the new Prime-Minister of Great Britain, during her 30th June speech, Theresa May declared that during her term ‘snap elections’ will never take place.
‘This is for our national interest’, added Mrs. May in front of the journalists.
