Thousands of police officers and constables were designated to secure the area on Friday, for the National Day of France

Considering the parade set to unfold on Champs Elysees will also be attended by American President Donald Trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the French national security department mobilized an army of 11.000 policemen in order to ensure the celebrations will finalize without any incident.

This year, France’s national holiday takes place “in the context of an increased terrorist threat”, according to French prefect Michel Delpuech.

Last year, during the exact same day, Macron’s state was overshadowed by a bloody terrorist attack conducted by a Tunisian citizen.

The author killed over 80 people after he ran over a large group of people who were watching the fireworks show on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice with a truck.

In April, a policeman was killed on the famous Champs-Elysees Boulevard by a jihadist.

Last month, also on the famous Boulevard, a man tried to run over a group of gendarmes and died before fulfilling his purpose.

Considering all these tragic events, the 14 July Paris parade will unfold by adopting very strict security measures.

The event will be attended by Donald Trump, who was invited by President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who will attend a meeting organized by a Franco-German organization the day before the parade.
