The wife of a New York police officer who died on a mission gave birth to his daughter two and a half years after her husband’s death, writes The Telegraph.

Wenjian Liu was killed in December 2014, during a night when he was patrolling in Brooklyn

Liu and his partner, Rafael Ramos were both killed by Ismaaiyl Brinsley, who jumped in front of their car, pulled out a gun and shot the officers without thinking twice.

The late policeman gave his last breath at the hospital, where the doctors were not able to do anything because the wounds were too critical.

However, his wife of three months was asked by the doctors if she has any desire in keeping her husband’s semen.

Two and a half years later, Liu’s widow, Pei “Sanny” Xia Chen, gave birth to a baby girl named Angel as an homage to her late father.

One of Pei’s friends, Maria Dziergowski, whose husband Matt, was also a member of the New York Police Department and was killed during a 1999 mission revealed the young mother had a dream after Liu was Killed: “Wenjian was there in a white suit, looking like an angel handing her a baby, and then she told her: << It’s a girl, a little angel.>>”.

Pei says she was sure she would have a little girl before she decided to get pregnant.

“I became pregnant through the in vitro procedure. I told my friend that I will have a little girl and I was right”.

The parents of the former policeman went to the hospital to see their niece and they were very excited. They migrated to the United States when Liu was 12 years old in 1994.
