HBO is happy to announce that they are about to launch the third season of the True Detective series
The fans of the series will be happy to find out that Oscar awarded actor Mahershala Ali, who won a golden statue for Best Supporting Actor in ‘Moonlight’ will be included in the cast.
Mahershala is set to portray the role of American detective Wayne Hays while Nic Pizzolatti will direct, alongside Jeremy Saulnier.
According to Variety, the official release of the third season’s pilot episode has not been established just yet.
“Nic has written some remarkable scenarios”, revealed Casey Bloys, HBO’s software director.
“With his ambitious vision and with Mahershala Ali and Jeremy Saulnier next door, we are delighted to start the True Detective next season”.
The first season of “True Detective,” with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, was well received by critics and the public.
Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch were part of the distribution in the second season.
The group of executive producers includes Scott Stephens, McConaughey, Harrelson, Cary Joji Fukunaga, Steve Golin, Bard Dorros and Richard Brown.
