She was an average woman but her passion for writing made her famous and millionaire overnight.

E.L. James is the mastermind behind the “50 Shades of Grey” trilogy, a sexy book that stole the hearts of housewives all around the world.

She was almost 50 when her entire life turned upside down.

Her house was constantly surrounded by paparazzi’s and journalists were eager to discover intimate details regarding her family life.

In a couple of months, Erika became a wealthy consecrated writer selling over one million copies of “50 Shades of Grey” in just four days.

In 2012, Time magazine included her in Top 100 Most Powerful Persons in The World.

Although she was able to afford anything she could possibly want, the 53-year-old says this is not the life she wants for her children.

“I would like to travel by subway, listen to music on my iPod without anybody recognizing me. I had a beautiful career in television and I received the biggest satisfaction regarding my work. What happened to me at this age has its benefits but I always get the impression that this is not the real me. When I come home, I clean, I talk to my kids, I am the real Erika. Besides that, it’s like I wouldn’t be me”, revealed the acclaimed writer.

We are not sure why she feels that way but we certainly hope that her new “acquisition’ is going to make her feel a lot better.

The millionaire splashed £5.4 million on the most glamorous villa. The new Hollywood-Hills-based mansion has the most spectacular view and the biggest outdoor swimming pool.

The five-bedroom residence is quite a change from her former modest London house. Following the trilogy’s huge success, Erika and her screenwriter husband Niall Leonard splashed out£2.65 million on a West London home, and a £1.1 million Cornish retreat — complete with beachfront sauna.
