Vietjet Purchased Planes Worth $2,39 Million Dollars

The international low-cost airline is set to buy more 20 aircraft, aiming to become the largest airline in Vietnam.
After 2014, Vietjet closed a deal with Airbus purchasing and leasing 100 Airbus planes, including models A320 and A321. The deal worth more than $2,39 billion dollars.
The agreement witnessed by the French president François Hollande, who is currently enjoying Vietnam, says that Vietjet requires the aircraft to be delivered between 2017 and 2020.
Airbus representatives said they also signed an agreement with Vietnam Airlines to purchase ten A350-900 aircraft.
Vietjet profitable deal with Airbus highlights the rapid expansion of low-cost airlines in Vietnam since 2007.
Before the official announcement, Vietjet paid up more than $11 billion dollars for a previous transaction with Boeing when they purchased 737 new aircraft.
VietJet is an on-going process of development, having the main goal to provide the best services for passengers and also to promote tourism in Vietnam, according to the CEO of the airline, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao.
A group of Vietnamese financial analysts believes that in the next 20 years, Vietnam could become a leader in the airline market.
Vietjet has its head office in Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City.
From December 2011, the airline’s president and CEO is Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao. On 9 February 2013, the airline launches its first international flight between Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok becoming the first Vietnamese private airline to enter the international market.
