French authorities arrested three women who were planning to commit terrorist attacks on a railway station in Paris.
The Ministry of Interior said that this is about the last three suspects detained on Thursday night in the investigation related to the abandon of a vehicle loaded with gas cylinders near the famous Notre-Dame de Paris.
The authorities arrested seven suspected terrorists after the Peugeot 607 car was abandoned in an area popular with tourists, said Reuters.
“An alert was issued for all the stations, but they planned to organize the attack on Thursday in the Lyon Station,” said a representative of the Ministry of Interior.
The Lyon train station is situated in the southeast of Paris, less than three kilometers from the area where the car was found loaded with the seven gas cylinders.
The three women arrested, aged 39, 23 and 19 years old, “have been fanatic radicalized and most likely were preparing for an imminent violent act.”
Also, the suspect is the youngest daughter of the owner of the vehicle involved in the incident, which would have run away from home with the family car.
The French authorities said this she presented the risk of joining the jihadist Islamic State in Syria and has already written a letter to the oath terrorist group.
In the antiterrorist operations during the last three suspicious arrests, a policeman was stabbed, while one of the women suffered a gunshot wound.
The antiterrorist operation held in the town of Boussy-Saint-Antoine is located just a few kilometers from Paris.
