Delta will give free food in the coach area again. But only certain flights are included.

As they tested this idea in 2016, Delta thought it would be good to try and implement it this year.

The ones that will beneficiate will be the “select coast to coast” flights.

This idea will become reality right this Spring. Only twelve routes will beneficiate from it first so the airline can see how it really works. These flights are transcontinental and one of the reasons why Delta does this might be the competition they face.

This is the menu: in the morning, a breakfast option, for lunch and dinner – wrap or sandwich.

Until now, only the first-class customers received free meals. In the last years, Delta and other airlines provided meals for the economic classes as well.

At the end of the last year, the airline tested their idea. The flights included were departing from New York and then landing in San Francisco or Los Angeles. The test took about a month and a half.

The staff tried to monitor the customers to see what impact this idea really has. Apparently, it worked really good and the company saw some significant improvements.

Delta released a statement to give the good news. Since their customers liked it and appreciated it so much, they are going to keep it in their most popular flights.

The flights where they tested the idea will be some of the first ones to beneficiate from this. Then, at the middle of April, the movement will expand on several others routes.
