The Clinton Foundation is a non-profit organization that was started by the Clintons and has gathered a lot of controversy in recent times. It was founded by Bill Clinton after his time in office with the main aim of tackling global challenges. The foundation is a non-profit organization that addresses various domestic and international problems and serves as an avenue for donors to reach out and help with causes they feel strongly about.
Donald Trump has called out the Clinton Foundation severally during the cause of this presidential election. He has stated that the foundation is an avenue for high ballers to gain access to the State Department while Hilary Clinton was in office. Critics suspect and speculate that the donors just do it to get in favorable terms with the Clintons and they have continued to dispute that claim anytime it comes up. This has made members of her campaign defend the credibility of the organization as one that fights for viable causes like global warming, economic development and Aids.
Contrary to these accusations, Hilary Clinton has stated that the donors do not get preferential treatment or unwarranted access to the State Department. Even there has been some controversy with some of the donors and Hilary Clinton’s standing has been questioned on several occasions as to her generous donations from Saudi Arabia, she has stood her ground that she isn’t in the wrong.
The foundation since its establishment however, has achieved a lot in the terms of the HIV/AIDS assistance project and with the support of donors has been able to subsidize anti-retroviral medication and made it readily accessible to a large population of sufferers in the world. They have also made advancements in reducing the effects of global warming, among other things.
