Ministers of External Affairs of all EU state members are gathering at Bratislava for a two-day summit.
The European officials will talk about the critical situation from Turkey and the current relations between Russia and Ukraine.
The meetings are scheduled for Friday and leaders to hope to stick to a narrowly focused, uncontroversial agenda.
The official reunion is organized by the EU Council and presided by the Council’s Presidentship. The meeting is set to take place in the Slovakian capital.
The situation in Turkey is one most important subjects from the packed two-day agenda.
The 28 ministers will also discuss the new methods to combat terrorism and the evolution of the EU’s global strategy.
“We should be very clear both in our support to the Turkish authorities against the attempted coup d’etat and on asking Turkish authorities to respect the rule of law and the fundamental human rights,” said Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni. “But I don’t think it is helpful to say no more negotiation with Turkey.”
According to Wand 17, another important issue to cover is the Turkish state’s ongoing incursion into Syria.
Not on the agenda is Britain’s decision to leave the EU.
But British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson focused on that topic in a message meant to convey London’s intention to work together with the EU.
Eu requires Turkey to change the initial anti-terrorism law because they consider the strategy compliant.
They believe the anti-terrorism law was used abusively, punishing hundreds of academics and journalists.
