A man has destroyed his successful business, having spent over a million dollars to buy lottery tickets from his store.

An American man, Adam Osmond, opened his own shop, after obtaining a degree in business, but lost everything he had because of his gambling addiction. The American, aged 49, would have been a successful businessman if he had not bought, every week, lottery tickets worth thousands of dollars.

“At first, I was just playing with a few dollars, but things have gotten worse with time. As the incomes grew bigger, so did my spending. The most difficult period of my addiction was between 2002 and 2008, “Adam Osmond declared.

“I was buying lottery tickets worth thousands of dollars every week. Every time I won, I put all the money back into the lottery, plus the whole business and full-time job income, “added Osmond.

The gambling addict spent practically everything on winning lottery tickets purchased from his shop without friends and family knowing anything about this terrible “disease”.

In November 2007, Osmond won $ 50,000 after a small investment in lottery tickets. Since then, he has lost control.

“When you win $ 50,000, you know you want to win more. When I took the win, I received 37,500 dollars after taxes. Within a week, I played it at all,” the man said.

In March 2008, Adam suffered a nervous breakdown and bought 54,000 tickets. None of them was successful. “I haven’t even checked. You can’t check 54,000 tickets, the lottery called me because I could not pay. I was crying for help,” says Adam. After he purchased, within a week, tickets worth $ 250,000 without paying them, Osmond lost his business.

Currently, the former gambling addict depends on much healthier activities. He’s now crazy about running marathons.
