Shia LaBeouf Admits Not Drinking For More Than A Year

Because it sends him haywire and almost ruined his life, Shia LaBeouf admits he has not had alcohol for more than a year.

Although he was not labeling himself as being an addict, the famous actor admits he attended Alcoholics Anonyms in the past as he was trying to get a grip on things.

‘You don’t touch it. Alcohol or any of that s*** will send you haywire. I can’t f–k with none of it. I’ve got to keep my head low. That s*** almost f***ed up my life. I got a Napoleonic complex. I start drinking and I feel smaller than I am, and I get louder than I should. It’s just not for me, dude,’ the actor said.

The actor admitted he started drinking more after he received some bad reviews for the movies Indian Jones, Wall Street 2 and Transformers.

Being worth around $10 million, Shia LaBeouf says that part of it was about posturing, never actually knowing how to drink and never liking it either, but knew he had to.

He gives credit to Robert Downey Jr. for inspiring it to take on with the booze, saying he needed to be ‘texture’. He also admitted he suffers from a Napoleonic complex, feeling really small when drinking.

LaBeouf states he cannot follow the advice given by Steven Spielberg who told him that reading his own press will not be good for him.

There’s no way to not do that. For me to not read that means I need to not take part in society,’ the actor declared.
