It is normal to make compromises in a relationship, but there is a very thin line between them and certain aspects that should alarm you. Here are some things you should not tolerate.

  1. When a person is always negative

If the person you’re planning to spend the rest of life happens to be always negative, this is a warning sign that something is wrong in your relationship. If your partner has nothing better to do than to complain constantly about all the things you do wrong, you should confront or put an end to the relationship. Nobody needs constant negativity 24/7. If you still cannot get along in this regard, maybe you should reconsider the relationship.

  1. Is a person is emotionally unavailable

If the person you’re with has a tendency to be shy, insecure or does not want to express their emotions in front of you, it might not be emotionally available at this time of life. People who behave like them usually have something that stops them to express their personality, which is hidden deep. Until they’re going to work themselves out of the blocks they won’t be able to develop emotionally. It is important that they do so when they’re ready.

  1. Always put you on the second place

If your partner has a tendency not to put your needs before anything else, this is another warning sign that you should consider. When you really feel that the person you love does not put you in the first place (consistently and in general), then communicate in trying to solve the problem. Yes, life, in general, can be very demanding with anyone. However, the one you love should be (almost always) first.

  1. Is a person who always wants to have control

If the person you’re with is treating you as if he was your boss, is moody and wants to retain control anyway, anytime, you must find the courage to change this situation. If you do not like taking orders, not always do what you want, change as your partner say, then you should think about to break up with this person. Someone who constantly needs to control others has problems with changes in general.
