After a turbulent summer, Clint Eastwood’s highly anticipated new movie, ‘Sully’, is expected to top the box offices this weekend.

The 3D biographic movie produced by Warner Bros studios has Clint Eastwood in the directorial chair, starring Tom Hanks. It will portray the national hero Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger, the US pilot who crash-landed in the Hudson River in January 2009, with an airliner, saving the lives of all 155 passengers. The cost of production went up to $60 million.

The movie is expected to reach around $22-$25 million from the ticket sales by this Sunday, only in Canada and the United States, being enough to exceed the low-budget movie ‘Don’t Breathe’ produced by Sony, which has been on the number one place for two weeks in a row.

The Warner Bros company hopes that ‘Sully’ will be as good received as other movies like ‘Captain Philips’, ‘Argo’ and ‘Flight’ who opened strong and continued like that for several weeks in a row. After an opening of $26 million, the movie ‘Flight’ easily collected about $107 million.

Eastwood is known for his movies telling the stories of local heroes, like ‘American Sniper’ produced by the Warner Bros. which grossed about $550 million in the entire world.

Thomas ‘Tom’ Jeffrey Hanks is an actor, American film director, and producer, winner of two Oscars for best actor. He began his career in comedy before getting notable success as a dramatic actor.

Currently, Hanks has listed as no. 2 top grossing actors with both the US – $ 3.3 billion – and worldwide – nearly $ 6 billion.

He is best known for the lead role in the famous movie ‘Forrest Gump’.
