They will soon celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary and they never seemed unhappy

However, the Queen and Prince Phillip’s public displays of affection were very rare and no one seems to know why.

Although they are spotted together almost every single time no one seems to remember how they look when they are kissing or hugging while other monarchs are not afraid to hold hands or smooch in public.

We only remember that kiss on the cheek that Prince Philip gave his wife in 1992 when they were celebrating the New Year’s Even in Greenwich.

Another PDA was caught by the cameras in 1982 when Her Majesty traveled to Ottawa.

Since then, no one managed to capture another affectionate moment between these two.

Everyone seems curious to find out why mostly because no royal rule or code forbids such gestures and in Queen Elizabeth’s case this seems to be like more of a personal choice.

Queen Elizabeth was always discreet, especially in public and this is exactly why she labels these public displays of affection as ‘unprofessional’.

Queen Elizabeth fell in love with Prince Philip when she was just 13

In 1947 they officially got engaged and a couple of months later they also got married.
