No less than 36 homes have been raided by the German police after the residents posted hateful Facebook messages.
Germany’s legislation is extremely harsh when it comes to preventing extremist behaviors and the authorities apply the same principles when it comes to Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks.
As you’ve come to realize, the level of tolerance on Facebook is very low, and racism, free hatred, and extremism invade our News Feed every single day.
In an attempt to discourage such practices, the German police launched a campaign against those who choose to express an unmotivated anger towards others on social media.
The campaign was initiated yesterday and included several hometowns from Germany.
The addresses were targeted via Facebook extremist posts and, according to the police, this is just the beginning for these bullies.
According to the press release published by the Federal Criminal Police Office in Germany, most of the messages that led to the unexpected “visits” were related to politics or sexual orientation.
All the raids took place in one single day
In Germany, the legislation includes harsh punishments when it comes to illegal content and violence. But at the same time, governmental organizations in the region are trying to impose a law targeting racist posts on Facebook and Twitter.
As expected, Facebook is not very excited about the project, especially because they might become forced to apply fines.
