The former Argentinian football legend was accused of sexual harassment
The charges were reported by Russian journalist Ekaterina Nadólskaia, who attended the Confederations Cup and wanted to ask Maradona a few questions.
According to the Ekaterina, her team and Diego decided to film the interview in a hotel room from Sankt Petersburg, but instead of answering her questions, Maradona flirted and tried to “tear” the journalist’s clothes.
“His assistant came and he threw me $500 and called the security. Three men took me out of the room. I could not even get my things”, revealed the journalist for Lenta.ru.
“No one has apologized for this behavior”, added the Russian socialite.
Meanwhile, St. Petersburg’s Channel 5 exposed a totally different version of what happened, claiming that the journalist wanted to “strip” in front of Maradona and refused to leave when the former athlete asked her to do so.
“I want Diego Maradona to go through what I’ve been through. And I hope there will be someone who will behave the same way with him because everything in this life comes with a price”, posted the frustrated Russian on social media.
According to Sovietski Sport, Maradona, aged 56, expressed his interest in leading the Russian national and he is also planning to obtain the Russian citizenship in the near future.
