The organizing team for Sweden’s most popular music festival canceled its 2018 edition after numerous sexual assaults and rapes were reported during the last year’s edition.

“Certain men cannot behave appropriately and it’s simply disgraceful. That’s why we decided to skip the Bravalla in 2018”, stated Swedish prime minister Stefan Lofven.

The situation is serious, considering the local police from Bravalla revealed on Monday they have received 23 sexual assaults complaints and four charges of rape.

“Most complaints were made hours after the crime was committed and we don’t have clear evidence”, explained one of the officers.

Prime Minister Stefan Lofven has labeled the events as “repulsive” and “acts initiated by miserable people”.

The politician also mentioned something about installing a video surveillance system in that area.

The 2016 edition was also marked by a “wave” of sexual assaults which, according to organizers, motivates the low interest expressed by the public: 45.000 sold tickets less with 10.000 than last year.

“The interest in music is decreasing and people are talking more about crimes and violence”, said Folkert Koopmans, president of German society FKP Scorpio, responsible for organizing the festival.
