The incredible situation occurred in the United States, where a couple left without the legal custody of their two kids because the American government has decided that the two adults are not “intelligent” enough to take care or educate two minors.

The wife and her husband are desperate and struggling to convince the American government the boys would feel better and comfortable in the bosom of their family.

“They believe that because of our disability we cannot raise our children or keeping them safe”, revealed the mother Amy Fabbrini.

Eric Ziegler and Amy Fabbrini said the authorities took the boys because they have limited mental capacities.

Officials say the reduced cognitive abilities of the two parents it’s affecting their abilities to take care of the boys and offer them a proper education.

Eric and Amy have been subjected to intelligence tests and the results show their IQ’s are around 70 when the average is 90-110.

“We believe that IQ should have nothing to do with it as long as you can keep your baby safe”, added Amy.

The first child was taken by the authorities four years ago after an acquaintance filed a complaint against them.

The same procedure has repeated this February with their second child.

The case is odd considering that a child protection volunteer says the two parents are as normal as possible.

“I have never seen anything alarming”, says Sherrene Hagenbach, a former child protection volunteer.

Although they have followed the authorities’ instructions and have been doing child raising, first aid and even nutrition courses, Eric Ziegler and Amy Fabbrini are still separated from their boys.

Despite the fact that it will be a long and difficult journey, the couple is determined to regain the custody of their two sons.
