Stealing someone’s personal data, especially when talking about naughty pictures, may put you behind bars for several months.

A man, originally from Chicago, received on January 24th a sentence to nine months in prison.

Why was that?

Apparently, the individual has broken into the accounts of 30 celebrities and stole their personal data, including nude pictures and videos.

Edward Majerczyk, aged 29 years, got bored and thought he could have some fun trampling people’s privacy.

Now, as a punishment, he must pay $ 5,700, after one of the female stars, who wished to remain anonymous, needed counseling services after the pictures were published.

Consequently, Majerczyk has been accused of creating a phishing scheme. By using it, he managed to illegally access more than 300 email accounts and social media profiles.

Apparently, among the victims of the cyber attacks was the actress Jennifer Lawrence.

Majerczyk pleaded guilty

Following the declarations, the authorities found out that the cyber criminal was sending email messages to the victims. By this method, the hacker was copying the appearance of an internet provider asking for passwords and accounts.

So, the hacker obtained the access to those who provided the needed information.

Apparently, Edward pleaded guilty for having unauthorized access to several protected computers to obtain information.

Somehow, he managed to obtain his transfer to Chicago and was not accused of selling or posting the materials online.
