After the settlement was approved by Depp’s lawyers the impressive amount was donated to the Civil Liberties Union Foundation and the children hospital in Los Angeles, where Amber worked as a volunteer for more than 10 years.
The $7 million dollars are going to be used to help abused women and a group of ill children.
The 30-year-old actress and her former husband were married for 15 months.
In May, after a couple of tumultuous and violent months, Amber decided to file for divorce accusing Johnny of domestic violence.
The couple, who wed in February 2015, settled their separation on Tuesday, a day before a court hearing for the temporary restraining order Heard had been granted in May.
“Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity.”, stated Heard’s lawyer.
The couple reached the settlement this week, in order to avoid a very long and public divorce.
Lately, sources inside revealed that Depp became a very disturbed and quick-tempered person.
On top of that, the 53-year-old had an obvious drinking problem and during their last fight, he cut his finger shattering a bottle champagne.
“Johnny then grabbed me by the shoulders and pushed me onto the bed, blocking the bedroom door. He grabbed me by the hair and violently shoved me to the floor,” confessed Amber in court.
Apparently, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star accused his former wife of having an affair with American actor Billy Bob Thornton. Amber denied the allegations adding that her former partner suffered from serious trust issues.
