28-year-old Salehi Eman worked as a sports journalist for a state television from Bahrain.
But on December 23, the beautiful journalist was shot on a street by a member of the Bahraini Royal Family, writes Daily Mail.
During the night of December 23, the car in which Salehi and six-year-old son were stopped by a suspicious man in the town of Riffa. Right after Salehi got out of the car, the gunman shot her in the head in front of her terrified toddler, who witnessed the entire scene.
The murder sparked controversy and mixed reactions in Bahrain, especially after the first information suggested that the responsible is a member of the royal family of Bahrain who was also military, according to Daily Mail.
“If you say a soldier was involved, is like claiming that the royal family is involved,” said the representative of the Bahrain Centre for Human Rights Yousif Almuhafdah.
“Nobody wants to talk about this”, he added.
The man who killed Salehi has around 30 years and is in police custody.
Several campaigners and local media have identified the killer as a member of the Al Khalifa Royal Family, but the information could not be officially confirmed by the international press.
An investigation is underway to determine exactly who the killer is and what were the reasons behind its shocking gesture.
Activists fear the investigation will be hushed because he is a member of the royal family based on the island.
