Logan’s star Hugh Jackman recently responded on Twitter about speculation that Deadpool, a character played by Ryan Reynolds in the surprising box office hit of the year of the same name, is going to make a cameo in the movie.
This comes after recent rumors started by TheWrap, who reported that Ryan Reynolds shot a scene as Deadpool for the Wolverine movie which is set to premier in March 2017. Shorty afterward, the movie director, James Mangold, took to Twitter to deny the fact: “For everyone freaking out, @The Wrap is dealing in fake news.Chill.”
“DEADPOOL IS NOT IN MY FILM. Do all caps help confirm it?” he followed with another tweet.
Even Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, saw that “Sadly, not true. Prisoner 24601 is on a solo mission.” Prisoner 24601 being a stab at Hugh Jackman’s role in “Les Misérables”, Jean Valjean.
Jackman responded to the issue today, also on Twitter, sharing the Mangold and Reynolds posts and adding “What they said…”
As previously reported, “Logan” is set in 2024 and follows an older, more weary Wolverine, who now has to take care of a sick Professor X with the help of another mutant, Caliban. Mutant births are in decline for unknown reasons, but Logan and the Professor come across a young girl named Laura who has powers similar to Wolverines.
On March 21, 2014, 20th Century Fox announced that Logan will be given the release date of March 3, 2017. On October 30, 2015, Fox confirmed that Logan will be released in IMAX format. On October 5, 2016, the title of the film was announced as Logan.
