Ellen DeGeneres, Mia Farrow, Bette Midler, Steve Martin and Dwayne Johnson are among the stars who have expressed their regret at the news of Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher death, who were one of the last true Hollywood talents.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress Carol Channing conveyed: ‘Debbie was beautiful and generous. It seems like yesterday we were having lunch here at home and discussing the possibility of working together on a new show. I have so many memories of her, so much laughter. My prayers go to her family. I will miss her.’

Comedian Rip Taylor starred with Debbie Reynolds in Las Vegas for several decades: ‘I’ve been blessed to work with this remarkable woman for nearly 50 years.’

Dwayne Johnson has published on his Twitter account a photo from the movie ‘Singing in the rain’ with the text: ‘Saddened by the news of Debbie Reynolds, a day after her daughter, Carrie, died.’

Singer and actress Bette Midler has confessed on Twitter that she finds it difficult to accept the news.

Known for his role in ‘Star Trek’, actor George Takei said: ‘Nothing is more wrong than to bury a child. Debbie died of broken heart, but she is with her daughter now.’

Miley Cyrus wrote on her Twitter account that the news made her want to hug her mother and never let her go.

Ellen DeGeneres added: “I can not imagine what their family is going through this week.’

Samuel L. Jackson also brought his last tribute to actress Carrie Fisher: ‘Light from the galaxy decreased in intensity with the loss of our Princess Leia. May the Force be with her!’

Recently, Steve Martin arouse widespread criticism after posting his farewell message to Carrie Fisher on his Twitter account: ‘When I was a young man, Carrie Fisher was the most beautiful creature I had ever seen. She turned out to be witty and bright as well’.

Apparently, his followers immediately turned against the comedian and accused him of being a sexist: ‘@SarahAnnRhoades: I think she aspired to something higher than just being remembered as beautiful and witty’.

Martin immediately deleted his Twit about Carrie.
