The idea of a curved screen might not be enough for Apple, considering they want to place the curved display on the entire surface of the phone.

We already know that one of the models of the iPhone 8 will have an OLED screen and the model will feature an ‘edge-to-edge’ display so that the bezel of the display will have a minimum thickness.

The new rumor appeared in the media in South Korea show that curved screen on the iPhone 8 will be more interesting than we expected. Sources indicate that “OLED version of the new iPhone will have curvatures on all sides, given that Apple has ordered plastic screens from plastic and not glass Samsung Display.

‘They are willing to offer Apple nearly 100 million screens’, reports phonearena.com.

The reference to the material chosen for screens show that Apple ordered plastic panels to be curved. Still cannot conclude whether Apple wants all sides to be curves.

Meanwhile, Apple has several months in which they can think of the final version of the product and they can experiment with the various technologies to integrate in their models.

OLED screens for the iPhone 8 will be a difficult task indeed, and manufacturers will have to start working even in spring, because the required number of phones to be ready for an autumn launch.

According to other rumors launched by Japanese publication Nikkei, Apple will launch three iPhone models in 2017. Two of the new models have the same screen as the iPhone series launched in July, while the third one will have an OLED 5.5” screen.

For now, it is quite unclear if the functionality of the Wireless Charging function will be present in all three models or just in the case of the iPhone version with OLED screen.

Kuo last week claimed that Apple will release 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch model iPhones with LCD screens as well as an all-new OLED model with a dual-lens camera.
