The first ice hotel to be open 365 days a year has a total area of 195 square meters and is located approximately 200 kilometers from the Northern Arctic Circle.

The hotel was constructed by sculptors from all over the world. Its construction required over 30 tons of water.

365 Icehotel has 21 guest rooms, a bar and an art gallery.

During summer, the hotel will be cooled using a special system.

The temperature inside the building is between five and eight degrees, but visitors will not endure the freezing atmosphere as they will spend their nights in warm sleeping bags.

A double room costs about 300 euros per night. The hotel was first opened in 1989, but until now, it was rebuilt every year. It was originally constructed on a smaller scale.

The sculptures used to be changed every year as Icehotel was melted back into the Torne River.

As the hotel won’t be melted down again, the designers decided to feature more art than ever in history. The sculptures picture underwater universes or dancing figurines.

If sleeping on an ice bed (literally) is not a pleasant thing for you, there is the possibility of visiting the hotel accompanied by a guide.

The tickets for adults will cost you 325 SEK ($ 50 or £ 30.50) per person.

In case you cannot afford to stay overnight or your path does not cross with Jukkasjärvi village, we’ll leave you staring at this photo gallery.
