Jose Mourinho is forcing players to train on Christmas at 16:30 on the ‘Old Trafford’. Moreover, he also decided to urge his staff members to come to work, instead on spending the special day with their families, at home.
Despite the fact during Louis van Gaal’s term, Manchester United had the day off on 25th December Mourinho refuses to share and respect the same principles and values.
Most teams from Premier League are scheduling their training sessions before the matches from Boxing Day, in order to allow their players to spend the rest of the day with their loved ones.
Normally, the British team was performing their Christmas training early in the morning on the Carrington camp but, unfortunately, Carrington will close its doors on Christmas and the Portuguese coach required his players to attend training on the ‘Old Trafford’ after 12 a.m.
‘Everyone is appalled. I never heard of it, even in the days of Fergie (Alex Fergusson -n.r). All staff members were coming at the Carrington base but if the exercise will be the ‘Old Trafford’ then you will need more staff’, confessed a source inside the exclusive British club.
Manchester United’s employees are extremely upset by Mourinho’s decision.
‘Some will have to stay at the stadium almost the entire day of Christmas, especially because the next day the team has a game at home (against Sunderland -n.r.). He has canceled holidays’, added the sources for The Independent.
Despite the fact his team achieved some impressive results in the last season, Mourinho claims a day off is unacceptable, not even if we’re talking about Christmas.
