A new spoof from famous NBC show Saturday Night Live sees the iconic scene from “Love Actually” where “The Walking Dead” Andrew Lincoln uses cards to confess his love to Keira Knightley being made fun of in the context of this year’s election.
On this week’s show, Hillary Clinton, played by Kate McKinnon shows up to the door of an elector with a pack of hand written posters.
“Let me just say”, the writing says “Because it’s Christmas… And at Christmas you tell the truth… I know you’re an elector… And on December 19th … You’re supposed to vote for Donald Trump.”
What comes next is true to the SNL humor.
“But bish…” the next card says. “He cray…”
What comes next is a list of motives why Donald Trump is “cray”: his refusal to have daily security briefings, antagonizing China, and so many other reasons that the card unfolds accordion-style.
Clinton then begs the Elector to cast her vote for anyone else, and she means everyone else: Tom Hanks, Zendaya, The Rock, a rock… and then, mocking Clinton for her out of touchiness, she starts saying lines from “The Help” : “You is kind, you is smart, you is important”.
The whole sketch ends with Clinton saying about Trump that he “will kill us all.”
SNL always denied that their political humor is biased, but the last month has obviously been quite anti-Trump. Clinton hasn’t had her campaign mistakes spoofed, as SNL is clearly eager to showcase every crazy and dangerous made the Trump camp has did.
