In recent years, animated movies began to reach a significantly larger audience, including adults.

From this perspective, 2016 was one of the greatest year for cartoons.

Here are the most interesting animated movies, which were released in 2016 in cinemas:

Zootopia

Zootopia was one of the best animations of the spring. It tells the story of a city in which all animals live in peace. A peace that is so beautiful that a doe cop gets to work with a fox who has troubles with the law. The plot is set on fire with the disappearance of an otter, which will trigger an adventurous searching operation.

Kung Fu Panda 3

The kind of animation that no longer needs an introduction as it is the third movie of the series. This time, the famous Po reaches a sanctuary of pandas, where the powers of the battle masters have been stolen by an ancient spirit.

Angry Birds

For sure you have played Angry Birds on your smartphone, at least once. If you liked it, clearly you didn’t miss the movie. The story was, of course, inspired by the game: the pigs invaded the island in order to steal the birds’ eggs.

Ice Age: Collision Course

Ice Age comes up with new adventures. This time, Scrat activates a crashed flying ship that triggers a wave of asteroids on Earth.

The Secret Life of Pets

Life in a block of flats is always full of surprises and the animation ‘The Secret Life of Pets’ presented it from a different perspective: that of animals. Terrier Max wakes up with a new playmate, Duke, a dog that will soon be euthanized. And the problems do not stop here, because of Snowflake, a white bunny that recently moved to the block, seems to threaten Max’s supremacy.

Moana

The action takes place underwater and the main heroine, who also gives the name of the movie, goes in search of a legendary island in order to save her family. In her journey, Moana will meet demi-god Maui, whose voice is interpreted by Dwayne Johnson.
