The Weeknd is the hottest performer of the moment and everybody ‘wants a piece of him’. He launches hit song after hit song and, recently, he performed live in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
But the best is yet to come for The Weeknd, who dominates the new Billboard Hot 100.
His new album, entitled ‘Starboy’ includes 18 news tracks and all of them were charted in the Billboard Top.
The main song, that carries the name of the album, occupies the second position after Rae Sremmurd’s ‘Black Beatles’.
This is the best period for The Weeknd, who didn’t hesitate to adopt ‘unconventional’ methods in order to get inspiration.
Abęl Tesfaye talked about using marijuana, Hennessy and a ‘few more things’ in order to get that extra-boost of inspiration in the recording studio.
‘The past couple of albums, I do get back to [using drugs as a crutch]’, confessed Abel for The Guardian.
Despite the fact he is now using marijuana and other substances just to relax and to get a little bit help in the writing process, The Weeknd had serious addiction problems when he was younger.
According the artist, he started smoking marijuana when he was just 11-years-old and that was just the beginning.
‘Drugs were a crutch for me. There were songs on my first record that were seven minutes long, rambling – whatever thoughts I was having when I was under the influence at the time. I can’t see myself doing that now.’, added the ‘Starboy’.
On December 30th, the 26-year-old will go on tour. His first concert is set to take place in Las Vegas.
