Turkey will strengthen its links with Russia to establish a truce in the Syrian martyr city of Aleppo after the regime in Damascus is about to take over the entire region, announced on Tuesday the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, quoted by AFP.

‘We will intensify our negotiations with Russia and other countries to find a solution to this humanitarian tragedy (…) Our efforts will continue, mainly to allow civilians to leave and to accomplish a ceasefire’, said Cavusoglu during a press conference in Ankara with his Czech counterpart Lubomir Zaoralek.

Meanwhile, the pro-Syrian forces executed at least 82 civilians, including women and children in the eastern districts of Aleppo, a region dominated by rebels until one week ago, the UN announced Tuesday.

During a news conference in Geneva, the spokesman for Human Rights, Rupert Colville, said the victims, including 11 women and 13 children, were killed ‘in the last 48 hours’ in four different districts of Aleppo, in northern Syria and the regime in Damascus is about to conquer the rebel-held area.

The Syrian Defense Forces recovered new quarters after they fought for 24 hours straight, while the Islamic State militants recaptured the ancient city of Palmyra on Sunday.

The possibility of establishing humanitarian corridors to evacuate the rebels and the civilians and to initiate a truce will be submitted for discussions during the meeting.

Turkey will continue to assist in the evacuation of the opposition militants and civilians from Aleppo, along with the US, Iran, the EU and the Arab states of the Persian Gulf.
