More and more customers are talking about the emergency messages they found sewn inside the clothes they have recently bought from Zara.
The disturbing messages were placed by the workers inside the garments, asking outsiders for help because they have not been paid for months.
This is not the first time Zara is facing such a controversy
This time around, the messages were found in the items people bought in Istanbul and they were actually written in Turkish.
The messages were sewn in by the workers who are currently employed at Bravo Tekstil, who filed bankruptcy overnight without paying the remaining salaries to the employees.
The same company was also producing clothes for Mango and Next.
In the past, Zara has also faced scandals from collaborating with factories accused of polluting the atmosphere or for collaborating with factories which treat their employees as slaves or “hiring” children.
