85 dead in Sinai, near a mosque

A bloody terrorist attack occurred in Egypt and 85 died

First information suggests a bomb was detonated near a mosque in the Sinai Peninsula, an area shadowed by the attacks conducted by the Islamic State.

According to witnesses, after the detonation of the bomb, several suspects opened the fire.

Hundreds of people have been severely injured and besides those 54 who died, other 75 people were rushed to the hospital.

The Egyptian army triggered three years ago a massive operation against the Islamists in Sinai, a conflict that has so far led to the deaths of hundreds of civilians.
